1. Why be a Christian? In other words, what is the benefit, advantage, or reward of following Jesus Christ, of believing in him?

There is an excellent benefit or an amazing advantage to being a Christian. What is it? Do you know what it is?

2. The Bible calls the benefit of believing in Jesus, the “one hope of your calling” (Eph 4:4). What is the “one hope” of the gospel of Jesus Christ?

In other words, in what one thing is a Christian to hope? To what is God calling the world through Jesus? What is the excellent benefit or amazing advantage of following him?

3. What is the meaning of the word “hope”? Please define it.

For example, how is the word “hope” used and defined in the world? How is it used and defined in the Bible? Does the world and the Bible define it in the same way? Why or why not? What is Christian hope? What are Christian synonyms for the word hope?

4. How can one receive the “one hope,” that is the one benefit or the one advantage which Jesus Christ offers the world?

In other words, how does one become a Christian, a disciple, a follower of Jesus Christ?

5. Have you taken all of the steps to have hope, to receive the “one hope” of the gospel? Everyone does not have Christian hope. Yet, do you have it?

For example, in Romans 10:8-15 (specifically verses 9, 10, & 13), we find 3 steps that everyone who hears the gospel must take, by faith, to be saved, in order to have the hope (the confidence) of being raised from the dead, just like Jesus, to receive the reward of eternal life, heaven.

So, below, please check-mark what you did/still need to do to have 1 hope.

Alert! Everyone must also “repent” of their sins to have it (SEE Lk 13:3; 2 Pe 3:9; Ac 2:38).

STEP 1: "If you... believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Ro 10:9)

I have believed in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
I still need to do this.
I do not yet believe he was raised from the dead.

STEP 2: "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord,... you will be saved" (Ro 10:9)

I have confessed Jesus as Lord before other Christians.
I still need to do this.
I am not yet able to confess this.

STEP 3: "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Ro 10:13)

Note: In the N.T., this is done in water baptism, the “one baptism” (Eph 4:5) of the Christian faith (SEE Mt 28:19; Ac 2:38; 22:16), not in prayer.

I have called on the name of the Lord in water baptism (immersion).
I still need to do this.
I do not yet want to be baptized.
