The gospel encourages us to call on the name of the Lord Jesus to be saved. For example, it says, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Ro 10:13). But is this to be done in prayer or in water baptism? And from what will we be saved? Through the name of Jesus Christ, God will save us from our sins [for example, our unbelief, our sexual immorality, adultery, fornication, perversions, lying, stealing, idolatry, magic, murder, covetousness, profanity, sensuality, etc. SEE 1 Cor 6:9, 10 and Rev 21:8].

When we call on the name of the Lord, God will forgive us. He will grant each one of us a pardon for all of the sins which we have committed against Him and all of the sins which we have committed against all others, if we truly repent (SEE Lk 24:47). We cannot continue in these kinds of sins and still be saved (SEE Ro 6:1). We must separate ourselves from them. And so we will be saved from God’s WRATH (Jesus received God’s wrath for our sins on His cross). We will receive the remission of our sins and the hope of eternal life, heaven. Through the name of Jesus Christ, we will be saved from the penalty for our sins, which is eternal condemnation, hell. Instead we will receive God’s praise. We will receive His GRACE, meaning His favor. He will favor us for believing in the death of His Son for our sins, His burial, and resurrection from the dead on the third day. God will favor us eternally for believing in His Son.

But first one must “call upon the name of the Lord will be saved” (Ro 10:13). Do you know how to do this? Is it to be done in prayer or in water baptism? When you complete this quiz, you will know exactly how to call on the name of the Lord to be saved. As soon as you believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and start to repent because of it, I encourage you to call on the name of the Lord to be saved in the way that Jesus actually commanded for it to be done. When making new disciples (Christians), Jesus commanded teachers/baptizers to call upon the name of the Lord in a person’s water baptism for their salvation. For example, He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Mt 28:19).
